Resident Paid Utilities
If the Resident is responsible for utilities, they are responsible for switching them into their name. Sometimes a Resident will forget to do so. If that happens, please pay the bill and then contact us and send us a copy of the bill. We will bill the Resident for their portion of the utilities and work with them to get the utilities into their name. We ask that you do not shut off the utilities, even ones you are not using such as water or electric. We need utilities to do final cleaning and maintenance in preparation for the resident’s move in. In the rare case of a resident never putting the utilities in their name, we may recommend disconnection. However, please work through our office to make sure habitability laws are followed.
